Refund and Cancellation Policy

At SB Tuition Centre (“we,” “our,” “us”), we are committed to providing clear and fair policies regarding refunds and cancellations. This policy applies to all services offered by SB Tuition Centre, including home tuition, group tuition, hobby classes, and competitive exam coaching within the Nagaon district and throughout Assam. By using our services, you agree to the terms outlined in this policy.

Refunds policy

1. Administrative Fees

  • The administrative fee paid to SB Tuition Centre after successfully matching a student with a suitable tutor is non-refundable. This fee covers the administrative and operational costs involved in the matching process, including vetting tutors and managing the student-tutor relationship.
  • If SB Tuition Centre is unable to match a student with a suitable tutor within a reasonable time frame, the administrative fee will not be charged.

2. Tuition Fees

a. Direct Payment to Tutors except first month

  • The first month’s tuition fee is collected by SB Tuition Centre. Subsequent tuition fees are payable directly to the tutor by the students during or after each session. Tutors will receive their payment for the first month from SB Tuition Centre after deducting the administrative fee and service charge of first month. The tutors are required to pay 15% of tuition fees as service charge for every month directly to SB Tuition Centre after receiving payment from parents.

b. Disputes Over Tuition Fees

  • Any disputes regarding tuition fees, including requests for refunds, must be resolved directly between the student and the tutor. SB Tuition Centre is not responsible for any disputes or issues that may arise from payments made directly to tutors.

3. For Home Tuition:

  • the service of referring a tutor for which a refund has been sought for will be subject to examination by experts of SB Tuition Centre regarding the quality and other aspects.
  • No cash or refund of money will be allowed, but only free home tutor replacement can be provided.
  • If the request is made for change of a tutor after adjustment of last month tuition fees, then it will be considered as a fresh enquiry.
  • At the time of Registration, Guardian has to pay Administrative or Tutor allotment charges Rs. 500 for one tutor to SB Tuition Centre.
  • In case SB Tuition Centre is unable to find replacement of tutor for your child within 14 days, then 50% refund will be made through online transfer only.

4. For Group Tuition:

  • Tuition fees must be remitted directly to our company A/C by students/parents during the current month of group tuition.

5. Cancellation Policy

a. Cancellation by Students

  • Students may cancel their enrolment or scheduled sessions by providing written notice to both the tutor and SB Tuition Centre. For home tuition and group tuition, cancellations should be made at least 24 hours in advance. For hobby classes and competitive exam coaching, at least 48 hours’ notice is required.

b. Cancellation by Tutors

  • Tutors must provide at least 24 hours’ notice to the student and SB Tuition Centre if they need to cancel a session. Repeated cancellations without valid reasons may result in the termination of the tutor’s agreement with SB Tuition Centre.

c. Cancellation by SB Tuition Centre

  • SB Tuition Centre reserves the right to cancel any course or session due to unforeseen circumstances, lack of participation, or other valid reasons. In such cases, students will be notified promptly. The administrative fee will not be refunded unless no suitable tutor match was made as per Section 1.b.

6. Missed Sessions in case of Home Tuition

a. Student No-Show

  • If a student fails to attend a scheduled session without providing the required notice, the session fee, as agreed upon with the tutor, will still be payable to the tutor. SB Tuition Centre will not intervene in the collection or dispute of this payment.

b. Tutor No-Show

  • If a tutor fails to attend a scheduled session without prior notice, the session must be rescheduled at the student’s discretion. The administrative fee will not be refunded or transferred.

7. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes regarding cancellations, tutor performance, or other issues should be addressed directly between the student and the tutor. SB Tuition Centre does not assume responsibility for resolution.

8. Changes to This Policy

SB Tuition Centre reserves the right to modify this Refund and Cancellation Policy at any time. Any changes will be effective immediately upon posting on our website. We encourage you to review this policy regularly to stay informed about our terms and conditions.
