Terms and conditions for Tutors

1. Enrolment and Registration

  • Tutors need to register on the SB Tuition Centre website or in person, providing accurate details like educational qualifications and teaching experience. After submission, our team will review your application and contact you for further verification. During verification documents like address proof, mark sheet must be required to submit.
  • Tutors must meet the eligibility criteria. SB Tuition Centre can accept or reject applications based on its assessment. Note that no experience certificates or appointment letters are provided as this is part-time job. 

2. Tutor Assignment and Matching Process

  • SB Tuition Centre matches tutors with students based on qualifications, experience, and student needs. Tutors may need to consult with students (and guardians) before finalizing assignments. The final decision to accept a student is up to the tutor. SB Tuition Centre helps find students seeking home tuition in your expertise area. Tutors should inform the Centre of any preferences or limitations regarding subjects, class levels, or locations.
  • Shortlisted tutors will be contacted for allotment and must start classes within 72 hours. Please do not contact or pay us before being selected by our management.

3. Tuition Fees and Payment

  • SB Tuition Centre charges Rs 500 from the tutors as administrative fee after successfully matching a tutor with a student. Guardians should pay the first month’s tuition fee to SB Tuition Centre via Google Pay or PhonePe at 09395639741. Tutors will receive their first month’s payment from SB Tuition Centre after deducting the administrative and service charges for the first month. Subsequent fees are paid directly to the tutor. Tutors must pay 15% of the each month’s tuition fee to the SB Tuition Centre as a service charge after receiving payments from the second month.
  • Tutors should keep accurate records of all sessions, including date, time, and duration, and share them with SB Tuition Centre upon request. If a student does not pay, tutors should report the issue to the Centre for assistance, though fee recovery is not guaranteed.

4. Attendance and Punctuality

  • Tutors are expected to be punctual and reliable for all scheduled sessions. Consistent attendance is crucial for the student’s academic progress. If a tutor is unable to attend a scheduled session, they must inform the student and SB Tuition Centre at least 24 hours in advance and arrange for a make-up session. Frequent cancellations or absenteeism without valid reasons may result in termination of the tutor’s association with SB Tuition Centre. Minimum duration of a class should be 75 minutes. The home tutor and guardian should mutually adjust the class schedule.

5. Terms and Conditions for Tutors: Code of Conduct

  • Tutors must always be professional and respectful towards students, guardians, and staff. They should create a positive learning environment, free from discrimination or harassment. Confidentiality of student information must be maintained, and personal or academic details should not be shared without consent.
  • Tutors must not engage in activities that could harm SB Tuition Centre’s reputation. They should only teach when at least one parent is present in the house. Tutors indemnify SB Tuition Centre against any claims or liabilities arising from legal breaches or misconduct. Tutors are responsible for paying applicable taxes on their earnings.

6. Teaching Methodology and Material

  • Tutors are responsible for developing appropriate lesson plans and teaching materials that meet the needs of their students.
  • Tutors should use approved educational resources and ensure that the content taught aligns with the curriculum or goals of the student. Any additional resources or materials required for teaching must be communicated to the student and/or guardians in advance.

7. Reporting and Feedback

  • Tutors are required to provide regular feedback on the student’s progress to both the student and SB Tuition Centre. Any concerns regarding a student’s behaviour, attendance, or academic performance should be promptly communicated to SB Tuition Centre.
  • Tutors may be asked to participate in periodic reviews or assessments conducted by SB Tuition Centre to ensure the quality of teaching.

8. Termination and Replacement

  • SB Tuition Centre reserves the right to terminate a tutor’s assignment if they fail to meet the expected standards of teaching or professional conduct. Tutors must provide at least two weeks’ notice to SB Tuition Centre if they wish to discontinue their services with a particular student. In the event of termination or discontinuation, SB Tuition Centre will arrange for a replacement tutor for the student, if necessary.

9. Liability and Insurance

  • Tutors are responsible for their own safety and conduct during tuition sessions. SB Tuition Centre is not liable for any personal injury, loss, or damage that occurs during these sessions. Tutors are encouraged to have personal liability insurance, especially if conducting home tuition.

10. Amendments to Terms

  • SB Tuition Centre reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time. Tutors will be notified of any changes through the Centre’s website or other communication channels. Continued association with SB Tuition Centre after amendments constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

11. Governing Law

  • These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of Assam, India. Any disputes arising under these terms shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts in Nagaon, Assam.
